Windows vista automatically restarts on startup due to VIRUS! help!?

If you got a blue screen then that might not be due to a virus. The blue screen also indicates hardware and sometimes software e.g. drive problems. If you are not 100% sure it is a virus then it is probably a hardware problem. If the laptop is overheating or has hardware problems then that would cause it to restart and also cause the blue screen.
