Why do Republicans put up with formerly open Troskyists (socialists) controlling their party?

It's true that the Trotskyists took over the Republican party, but now it seems, on the surface, at least, to be dominated by inept showmen, panderers and fools running for president. It makes you weep. I guess this is part of the trotskyist dream, to create a package that appeals to any idiot in our society, so that they will go along with whatever the elite wants.
