My tonsils are covered in white spots?

I went to the doctor 2 days ago to get a cyst removed and my throat was a little sore and since there was an ENT next door to my doctors office i decided to schedule an appointment there. The swab test came out negative and the doc figured if I do have tonsillitis then the amoxicillin I got for the cyst removal would probably take care of it. I've been wondering about it all day today now cuz my throat is still kinda sore and my right tonsil has a bunch of white spots, yet I don't have any other symptoms. In fact, I've been feeling pretty normal since before this started. So could the white spots be something else besides tonsillitis, strep, or mono?
